The Supreme Court on Monday sought the response of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the bail plea of ​​former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister V. Senthil Balaji. It is worth noting that Senthil was arrested last year in a money laundering case. He appealed to the Supreme Court after he did not receive relief from the High Court in this matter.
Judge Abhay S. A bench of Justice Oka and Justice Ujal Bhuyan issued a notice to the ED and asked the agency to submit its reply by April 29.
Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. After hearing the case, the Madras High Court rejected Senthil’s bail plea in February.
The arrest took place in June last year
ED arrested V. Senthil Balaji in June last year. In 2014, while the transport minister, Balaji was accused of giving jobs to people in the Metropolitan Transport Corporation by taking money. There is also an allegation that Balaji committed money laundering.
