The returned drinks included 228 bottles of English spirits and 86 bottles of beer. Along with liquor, the police also arrested a smuggler who was driving a luxury car. The smuggler who was arrested was identified as Belu Kumar, about 22 years old, a resident of Trivanage.
The shipment was brought to Supaul from West Bengal.
The smuggler who was arrested told during an investigation by the police that he was taking the shipment of liquor from the neighboring state of West Bengal to Trivaniganj in a luxury car. No one quickly suspects that liquor is being smuggled in a luxury car. Therefore, alcohol was brought in a luxury car thinking it was a safe zone.
Chief of Jadiya Police Station, Rajeev Kumar, said that the police are working strictly in light of total prohibition and crime control. In this regard, based on secret information, an operation was conducted on NH-327E near Harinha. An FIR was registered against the smuggler in the relevant section. The smuggler was sent to custody after a medical examination.
