New Delhi: State Minister Sanjeev Balian’s convoy reached Madkarimpur village in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening, March 30, in connection with an election campaign, where some youths tried to harm him by pelting stones. The vehicles included in the convoy were damaged in the accident and many workers were injured. After the event, a storm arose in the village.
When a program was organized at the village head’s house to welcome the BJP candidate, anti-social elements carried out the event. The police arrived at the village and investigated the incident. Sanjeev Balyan is BJP candidate from Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha seat. On Saturday, March 30, the inauguration of the politician’s electoral office took place in Kasbah Hatauli, which he could not attend. A welcome program was organized at Chief Minister Rakesh Kumar’s house in his village Madhakrimpur.
A riot broke out in the village
The minister was welcomed after the arrival of Sanjeev Balian’s convoy. When the former MK Vikram Saini gave his statement, the young men standing on the side of the road started shouting slogans and started throwing stones, as a result damage was caused to the vehicles of the convoy. The glass of the vehicles was broken. There was chaos in the village. In the attack, about 10 workers were injured and 15 vehicles were damaged. Sanjeev Balian’s supporters became active and tried to catch the youths who were throwing stones, but they escaped through the fields.
Sanjeev Balian was at the residence of the village chief at the time of the incident.
Even before the police could reach the place, the supporters of the Union Minister of State safely took his convoy out of the village. CO Khatauli is investigating the case. When Sanjeev Balian was staying at the village headman’s house, some people pelted stones and bricks at his convoy.
