Guwahati: Union Minister Amit Shah, addressing a press conference held at AB Vajpayee Bhawan in Basista, Guwahati, on April 30, expressed confidence in his party’s performance in the ongoing elections.
Shah stated, "Two phases of the elections are over, and our internal assessment indicates that we are going to win over 100 seats. We are on our way to cross the 400 seats mark. We have performed well in Assam, Bengal, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan."

Regarding the elections in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Shah mentioned, "Although the elections in South India are over, the initial trends indicate a very good performance."
He also added that in recent days, the Congress party has begun challenging the BJP’s goal of crossing the threshold of 400 seats in the elections.

He further said that there have been allegations of a misinformation campaign by the Congress, alleging that the BJP intends to change the Constitution and scrap the reservation policy. However, Amit Shah dismissed these claims as completely “baseless”.
