GUWAHATI: The State Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has announced to introduce a new elective subject on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Robotics’ from the academic session 2024-2025 in class IX and the academic session 2025-2026 in class X.

SEBA also stated that the textbook is accessible by various means – the PDF version is accessible on SEBA’s official website (www.sebaonline.org) in the textbooks section.

It was also stated in the announcement that the practical grades for all professional subjects, including artificial intelligence and robotics, clothing design, woodwork, music, dance, yoga and physical education, fine art, home science, weaving and textile design, and all subjects under NSQF, will constitute 50% of the total marks from the meeting the academic year 2024-2025.
The practical grades for computer science and commerce will remain at 30%, as mentioned.
The practical exams for all subjects, including artificial intelligence and robotics, clothing design, woodwork, music, dance, yoga, physical education, computer science, commerce, art, home science, weaving and textile design, and all subjects under NSQF, for both grades 9 and The final board examination of class X in 2025 will be conducted by the internal examination committee at the district level.
The practice of conducting practical examinations at the center level has been discontinued. Students must obtain passing grades in practical exams separately, SEBA said in a statement.
