School: Dalit boy beaten for touching bucket of water; Untouchability is still alive in the school! Achi-News

Rajasthan: In a school in Rajasthan where everyone is taught that we are all equal, a Dalit boy was beaten and abused on the basis of caste and religion. An incident has come to light where an 8-year-old Dalit boy was beaten for touching a bucket of water at school.

Beating for touching the bucket at school

An 8-year-old Dalit boy touched a bucket of water near a water pump at a school in Alwar, a village in Rajasthan. The police said that the boy was physically assaulted because he was a Dalit.

Complaint by the boy’s father

The incident happened on the school grounds at around 9.30 in the morning and the boy’s father lodged a complaint with the police. The boy is studying in class 4 in a government school in the village of Alwar, Rajasthan.

Assault by a higher caste person

He went to drink water from the hand pump on the school grounds. At that time the boy touched the bucket there. A complaint has been filed that he was assaulted by an upper caste man who was there at that time.

What did the boy’s father say?

Speaking to Indian Express, the father of the boy who was beaten said, “There is a water hand pump in the school grounds, all the people in the village fill the water there. My son moved the water bucket aside to drink water. He told me that the upper caste man who was there treated my son cruelly and beat him indiscriminately.

Caste abuse by a beaten man

As soon as we heard his cries, our relatives went near the school. Meanwhile, my son was standing there crying. As soon as I found out what had happened, I went with our relatives to the house of the person who was attacked. Even then, the man did not apologize to us and said he is robbing our family again.

The boy is afraid to go to school

My son is afraid to go to school now. He demands the withdrawal of the complaint given to the police. My son threatens that the man will beat me again if I go to school. The boy’s father said that he should get justice and that the culprit should be punished.

The police promised appropriate action

An FIR has been registered under the SC/ST Act in connection with the incident at the police station and police are investigating. Commenting on the incident, District Inspector Sawai Singh said that the accused has been interrogated and the necessary steps would be taken as soon as he is found guilty.
