Voting for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 began today. Meanwhile, showing the importance of voting, famous sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik created a work of art at Puri beach, Odisha. Through this work of art, he appealed to the voters to vote for the ongoing Lok Sabha and state assembly elections across the country. The sand artist created this creation with the help of mango. Let us tell you that along with the Lok Sabha elections, there are also assembly elections in Odisha. Voting is taking place in 42 seats of the state from this morning.

Works of art prepared with the help of mangoes

Patnaik created this 2000 square feet piece using 500 kg of mangoes. He also wrote a message in this piece. He wrote- ‘Election festival, pride of the country’. ‘Vote your vote’. Patnaik said it took him five hours to complete the piece in collaboration with students from his institute.

Talking to the media he said, “Mango is the favorite of many people in the summer season. I appeal to voters to vote tomorrow. We have used mango in our artwork.”

Last year, works of art were also made on the occasion of Rath Yithra

Earlier last year, Sudarshan Patnaik created a magnificent artwork of Lord Jagannath on the beach while displaying his art on the auspicious start of Rath Yatra in Puri. Sudarshan created a five meter tall sand sculpture of Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra along with Lord Jagannath. In this he also prepared three chariots with 250 coconuts. In this art, Patnaik depicted the story of Dasya Bauri. It took him 15 days to create this piece. Every year Sudarshan Patnaik displays his sand art pieces during the Ratha Yatra.
