The meteorological department has issued a red alert in Bengal regarding a heat wave. Whereas an orange alert has been issued for Odisha and Bihar. Scientists say there will be an outbreak of hot winds in the next four-five days.

A heat wave is happening in eastern India

Regarding the rising heat and heat wave, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Senior Scientist Naresh Kumar said, “Currently, a heat wave is happening in eastern India. The weather will remain like this for the next four-five days. In view of the heat wave, a red alert has been issued in West Bengal .The temperature there is five-six degrees above normal.The temperature is also expected to drop from tomorrow, an orange alert has been issued.

Orange alert for today and tomorrow in Odisha

He also said that an orange alert has been issued in Odisha for today and tomorrow. It is possible that in the next five days there will be a heat wave in Bihar, due to which we have issued an orange alert. There is a possibility of heat wave in Jharkhand as well.

There will be such weather in Bihar

Kumar said, ‘A two-day orange alert has been issued for Odisha. After that, there are estimates that there may be a slight drop in temperature. After two days of scarcity, there will be hot conditions again in Odisha. Heatwave conditions are expected to continue in Bihar for the next five days. We issued a five-day notice. Temperatures at night and in the morning are higher than usual. There is a possibility of heat in Jharkhand as well. If we talk about the southern peninsula, there is no heatwave forecast there, but the warning given by us is for ‘hot and humid’ and the maximum temperature is above normal. For Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, we have issued a ‘hot and humid’ warning for the next four-five days.

Possibility of light rain

A senior scientist of IMD Delhi also gave information about the capital’s weather. He said, ‘Our assessment in Delhi is that the temperature is expected to be around 38 degrees Celsius for the next two to three days. After that, it may gradually rise a degree or two and with that there is a possibility of light rain tomorrow. At present, if we talk about East India, the temperature has reached 44 degrees Celsius at one or two stations. In the next four to five days, the temperature in eastern India may reach 44 degrees Celsius and it is not expected to exceed 40 or 41 degrees Celsius in northwestern India.’
