Raiganj now in sight! Trinamool jumps on strong campaign to beat BJP, to inaugurate assembly today – News18 Bangla Achi-News

Raiganj: Raiganj Lok Sabha Constituency Trinamool Congress is taking on BJP this time. The turnout in Itahar in Navjoa Yatra has given much assurance to Trinamool Congress. However, BJP is trying to keep the Rajvanshi factor ahead. Congress is also in the fight keeping the passion of Priranjan Dasmunsi from before. They nominated Victor in the league there. Trinamool got good results in South Dinajpur district in 2021. BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar is the MP here. However, the ruling party of Bengal has strongly criticized that it lost its own ward in the by-election. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have already held a meeting in Balurghat. Narendra Modi himself held a meeting in Raiganj. Mamata Banerjee has already held meetings in these two Lok Sabha constituencies. Abhishek Banerjee will host a meeting and roadshow today.

BJP’s vote increase of 22 per cent in Raiganj constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls has worried Trinamool. BJP’s Debashree Roy Chowdhury won the Seva seat with just over 40 percent votes. Trinamool was second with just over 35 percent votes. The Trinamool is desperate to take over the seat in 2024 by making up the five percent deficit. Adding to their concern, the Congress and CPM combined polls of around 21 percent. The Trinamool is moving forward with accurate calculations to retain a large portion of this vote.

BJP is not sitting either. They are also looking at that 21 percent vote. Trinamool admits it is lagging behind in terms of percentage. But the leadership is reluctant to give importance to the demands of the opposition as they have organization up to the booth level in Raiganj Lok Sabha constituency. In 2014 Raiganj was under CPM rule. At that time CPM got 29 percent votes. The Congress got 28.5 percent votes. BJP and Trinamool won 18.32 percent votes and 17.39 percent respectively.

In 2019, BJP got 5 lakh 11 thousand 652 ie 40.08 percent votes. Trinamool was second with 4 lakh 51 thousand 78 ie 35.32 percent votes. CPM got 1 lakh 82,000 35 (14.25 percent) votes. And the Congress got 83,000 662 (6.55 percent) votes. Judging the 2014 results with the 2019 results, it is worth noting that the Congress lost about 22 percent and the CPM about 15 percent. There BJP and Trinamool votes increased by around 22 percent and around 18 percent respectively.
