Islamabad (Web Desk) Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has appointed Captain (Rtd) Muhammad Mahmood as Chairman.
“We wish to inform you that Mr. Hasan Nasir Jami, the Chairman has ceased to be the Chairman of the Company with effect from April 1, 2024 and that Captain (Rtd) Muhammad Mahmood has been appointed as Chairman,” the filing said.
The new Chairman PTCL also holds the post of Additional Secretary (in charge) of the Ministry of IT and Telecom.
PTCL also released the updated list of executive Board of Directors including the Chairman.

A week ago, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) said that PTCL’s pre-merger bid to acquire Telenor Pakistan was under review.

CCP had earlier asked for more information on March 20, 2024 to complete its investigation. The required information is expected from PTCL lawyers.
The Commission has 30 working days to complete its investigation after submitting all the required information. The time frame of 30 working days for the first stage review will begin after PTCL’s lawyers submit the remaining information sought by the Commission.
It may be mentioned that the CCP Integration Department is currently processing 21 applications. PTCL’s acquisition of Telenor is one such bid.
