News in the poll Voters exercised their franchise with great enthusiasm in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections held on the occasion of the grand festival of democracy in Sikandra. Voting was conducted peacefully in the block area within tight arrangements. From 7 to 11 am, voters cast their votes enthusiastically in their centers. But with extreme sunlight and hot wind, Sikandra’s temperature reached 42 degrees. Due to extreme temperatures, people were prevented from leaving their homes. Due to this only a few voters came to the polls from 11 to 3. In Sikandra, voters of many places including Ward No. 1, Ward No. 2 and Lakhisarai Road, Sheikhupura Road had to face a lot of problems because the BLO did not give them the slips. Voters seemed outraged at BLO’s negligence. Peaceful voting took place in 116 polling stations in Sikandra. In which polling stations 218 and 219 of Mahadev Simaria Plus Second High School became polling stations. Due to the lack of drinking water facilities in the remaining polling stations, the poll workers, security personnel and voters had to face many problems. Absolute silence reigned this afternoon in Sikandra’s central square that connects four districts. Administrative Observer, Police Observer, DM Rakesh Kumar, SP Dr Shaurya Suman, CDPO Satish Suman, Block Development Officer Emeritus Electoral Officer Amit Kumar, Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar, Sub Inspector Upendra Pathak, Ranjit Kumar were deployed by The Election Commission at many polling stations in the block many policemen continued to check the polling stations to ensure peaceful voting.
