PM Modi is leading India to ‘Digital Age’, RJD is pushing Bihar back to ‘Lightning Age’: Yogi Adityanath

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the country into the digital age, the Rashtriya Jatanta Dal (RJD) and its supporters seem determined to drag Bihar back to the ‘Lightning Age’.

Addressing a Vijay Sankalp rally in Bihar Nevada to seek support for BJP candidate Vivek Thakur, the UP chief minister took a dig at RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying: “Ishwar, make Lalu ji healthy, you will improve population and make BJP aawas ka karya karegi” (May God bless Laluji with good health and he will contribute to population growth while BJP takes care of housing construction).”

Urging voters to support the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for its developmental achievements, Yogi Adityanath termed the past RJD administration as a ‘dark era’ as he emphasized the BJP’s commitment to honoring the respected personalities.

Addressing the RJD, Yogi Adityanath emphasized that funds from Delhi are now directly reaching the accounts of the beneficiaries.

Highlighting the developmental achievements of the NDA, CM Adityanath noted that under the Modi government, four poor people got houses in the last decade, adding that another three million houses would be built in the next five years.

He also emphasized that Nawada is the revered ‘Karambhumi’ of late Jayaprakash Narayan, who played a pivotal role in maintaining democracy, besides being the land of former chief minister late Karpuri Thakur.

He also highlighted Bihar’s immense contribution to the nation, mentioning prominent figures like late Constituent Assembly Speaker Rajendra Prasad, and former Chief Minister Krishna Sinha, who hailed from the region.

“The Congress and its allies have consistently failed to honor Jayaprakash Narayan and Karpuri Thakur. However, PM Modi and the BJP have shown their respect for the people of Bihar by awarding the Bharat Ratna to Karpuri Thakur. Bihar is revered as the cradle of democracy, a designer the nation’s history and imparts valuable lessons in democracy.”

Yogi Adityanath also noted that the most serious challenges to democracy include the ‘criminalization of politics’ and the ‘politicization of criminals’, adding that politics based on class and family is a major obstacle to the democratic process.

“With the establishment of Ram Lala in Ayodhya, there was a rise in enthusiasm in Bihar. The first gift to the Ram temple came from Bihar,” he said.

The BJP leader also mentioned that earlier, the youth could get interest-free loans up to Rs 10 lakh. However, as outlined in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra, this amount has now been doubled to Rs 20 lakh.

The UP chief minister also criticized the RJD for indulging in extortion activities, asserting that such activities are not tolerated under the BJP-NDA government.

He pointed out that many associated with the RJD are known for brandishing weapons, as he questioned their commitment to progress.

While the BJP and its allies strive to realize the vision of a digitally independent and advanced India through initiatives like Digital India, the RJD and its allies oppose these efforts.

“Not only did we establish Ram Lala in Ayodhya; we also sent the mafia and criminals on a journey to ‘Ram Nam Satya Hai’. Some ended up in jail, some in hell. Only the BJP can achieve this. If you want Bihar to mirror UP’s progress, don’t let To discourage you on April 19, vote for the Lotus symbol and stand against those who tarnish politics.”
