A PIL was filed in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. The petition said that the name of Shaheed Path should be changed to Pragati Path or something else. Being named Shaheed Path, the word ‘martyr’ creates a negative feeling due to road accidents. which caused the accident

The petitioner said that the name of Shaheed Trail should be changed to ‘Pragati Trail’. The court rejected the petition saying this is your superstition and saying that is an insult to the martyrs.
This order was passed by the bench of Justice Rajan Roy and Justice Om Prakash Shukla on the PIL filed on behalf of Adarsh ​​​​​​Mehrotra. During the hearing of the petition, the petitioner told the court that the Municipal Corporation had passed a proposal to name Amar Shaheed Road as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
The court said that such cases cannot be filed in the court under Article 226 of the Constitution or under Public Interest Litigation. The court said that any authority that can change the name Shaheed Path is completely free to do so.

The petitioner told the court that this step was also demanded to reduce accidents on Shaheed Road. In response to this, the court has not given any data in this regard through the petition.
