Peterborough man accused of luring boy with Snapchat: Durham police Achi-News

A man from Peterborough, Ont., is facing a charge of luring a child following an investigation by police in Durham Region.

Durham Regional Police Service’s internet child exploitation (ICE) unit launched an investigation into the fraud reported on a 13-year-old boy via the messaging app Snapchat.

Police say the suspect asked the boy for sexually explicit photos.

“Further investigation revealed the possibility of other victims,” ​​police said.

On Monday, ICE investigators arrested Tyler James Croft, 25, of Peterborough. He was accused of enticing a child under the age of 16 to make child pornography.

He was remanded in custody for a bail hearing scheduled in Oshawa.

“Police have concerns that there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward to investigators,” police said on Tuesday.
