  • That day, officers said that two soldiers were injured during the encounter. One soldier was injured by an IED explosion and the other by a BGL fired by Naxalites. Those who were evacuated from the scene were brought to the hospital.
  • By the afternoon of May 11, the police had reached the Bijapur district headquarters with the bodies of all the 12 Naxalites. The police held a press conference between 12 and 1 and showed the weapons and explosives discovered along with the dead bodies of all the Naxalites.

Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav said that on May 10, the encounter lasted for about 12 hours at Padiya Masukma. In which 12 Naxalites were killed including 2 women. Among these, there were two Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh each. At the same time, there was a total prize of 31 lakh rupees for all. Three Naxalites were injured in this encounter.

A villager was also shot in the crossfire. All three brought the injured Naxals and the villagers to the district headquarters, who are being treated. The Naxalites entered the village in plain clothes to mislead the soldiers. Weapons and other items were recovered from the scene.
