Punjab Kings have another loss in their account. On Sunday (April 21), Gujarat lost the match against Titans by 3 wickets. At first, Punjab collapsed for 142 runs as Gujarat’s bowlers flourished. Later Shubman Gill Sena hit the short target with 5 balls to spare. Gujarat’s fourth win while Punjab’s sixth defeat.
Gujarat had a journey of ups and downs in a short period of time. As the target was small, the Titans batsmen batted sluggishly. That gave them a headache as the contest went into the middle. Liam Livingstone, Shubhaman Gill (35) and David Miller (4) were included in the game at the critical moment. At that time Rahul Tewatia (36 not out; 7 fours off 18 balls) proved how valuable a player is. Needing 38 runs in the last 4 overs for victory, Tewatia rained boundaries. Harpreet Brar scored 13 runs in the 17th over Rabada scored 20 runs in the 18th over. This made the game one sided.
Earlier, Punjab batsmen were beaten by Gujarat bowlers on their own ground. Taking wickets on one hand.. on the other hand, they did not give any runs. Every other batsman failed. With this, Kings were bowled out for 142 runs in the allotted overs.
