In it it is written that the girl should not marry until she turns 18 and the boy turns 21.
Both parties were unaware of the law
Giving information, Defense Officer Rajni Gupta said that he received information on May 6 that the marriage of a minor girl was to be held on May 10 at Idgah Colony. After this the girl’s mother was contacted on the phone and called to the women’s police station. After this the boy’s side was also called.
The boy lives in Gohana in Sonipat district, from there he reached Panipat office. After arriving here, documents related to the age of the boy and girl were checked. In which it was found that the girl’s age was 13 years and the boy’s age was 16 years. The boy works as a falconer. There was a lack of knowledge of the law, ignorance and illiteracy on both sides.
