Washington: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that our direction regarding the revival of Pakistan’s economy is quite clear, ARY News reported.
Speaking at a press conference in Washington along with Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Masood Khan, he said that the tax collection mechanism is being improved through reforms.
The Minister of Finance said that despite the difficulties and challenges, progress must be made. Muhammad Aurangzeb said his negotiations with international financial institutions remained positive.
According to him, the stock market of Pakistan has also witnessed a historic bullish trend in recent days due to positive indicators of our economy. The minister said that access to the Chinese market is being obtained. He also emphasized the need for concrete steps to reduce expenses.
Pakistan’s ambassador to the US Masood Khan said that he has witnessed a change in the attitude of international financial institutions towards Pakistan compared to last year.
He expressed hope that good news will soon be shared with the nation regarding the IMF and the World Bank.
