A Pakistani mountaineer has achieved a feat on Tuesday. He conquered Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen. Sirbaz Khan reached the summit of Everest at 12:30 local time and became the second Pakistani to come back down without oxygen. Earlier, Khan had climbed with the help of oxygen.

Sirbaz Khan has earlier conquered 11 peaks of more than 8,000 meters without oxygen. At the same time, Khan had used oxygen while climbing Annapurna and Kanchenjunga. Khan was also going to climb the summit of Shishapangma in early 2024 but the Chinese government refused to allow the mountaineering. Khan is the first Pakistani to climb 10 of the 14 highest peaks in the world.

Pakistan’s government mountaineering organisation, the Alpine Club of Pakistan, had earlier said in a statement that at 7 am on Saturday, Khan was standing at the top of the 8,586 meter Kanchenjunga, the world’s third highest peak. During this time he had another companion.

He became a mountaineer at the age of 24

Khan lives in Hunza Valley in northern Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan. Khan, 32, began his journey as a mountaineer in 2016. During this time he was only 24 years old. Three years later, Khan became the first Pakistani to climb Mount Lhotse. Khan hopes to conquer all 14 mountains in the world whose height was more than eight thousand meters.
