GUWAHATI: A major forest fire broke out near the Noonmati Refineries Hospital on the evening of April 22, prompting the rapid response of several units of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ESS). The Chandmari F&ESS received the call at 20:11 and dispatched their first diversion vehicle a minute later. The first crew returned at 12:30 a.m. on April 23 after getting the fire under control.

The fire at Noonmati required the combined efforts of Chandmari, Dispur and Guwahati F&ESS units. Station Officer at Chandmari F&ESS pointed out that the fire was big and required coordination with other departments to bring it under control.

In a separate incident earlier today, a fire broke out in Pansi Bazaar at around 6:55 am. Three fire crews were sent to the scene, and the flames were successfully brought under control. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the fire department will publish a detailed report later.
