What is a zero shadow day?
A no shadow day is an astronomical event where the Sun is directly overhead. At this time the Earth’s axial tilt is approximately 23.5 degrees and the Sun is directly overhead. In that case, the shadow phenomenon occurs. No shadow of any person or object is created at that time.
As the sun moves north in the sky, it passes directly over our scalp. When the sun is overhead, our shadow is directly below us. At that moment we are standing on our own shadow. So at this moment of no shadow we do not see our shadow. Zero shadow moment can be observed without any special tools or equipment.
