Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K.S. Jawahar Reddy, said on Wednesday that authorities have seized 258 million rupees in cash, alcohol and narcotics in the country since January 1. Let us tell you, the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously on May 13. Reddy informed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar about the recovery during a video conference. The chief secretary said that from January 1 till date, Rs 258 crore in cash, liquor, drugs and other incentives have been seized. Andhra Pradesh shares borders with five states and 150 check posts have been set up within the state borders.
Ninety thousand liters of liquor worth around Rs 2 crore were seized in Mangaluru
Since the implementation of the model code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections, 90,443 liters of liquor worth Rs 1 crore, 95 lakh and drugs worth Rs 8,69,950 have been found in the Dakshina Kannada parliamentary constituency. According to the publication, since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for Lok Sabha Elections 2024, till Wednesday the officials seized 90,443 liters of liquor worth Rs 1,95,47,179, while till Wednesday the liquor worth Rs 8, 69,950 was seized in this Lok Sabha constituency. Various drugs were also found. The release said that during this period a total of 278 FIRs were registered including violations of Excise Department rules and other crimes.
