The uncle of the deceased, Talo Murmu, said that his niece was married to Harshan Tudu, son of Chand Tudu, a resident of Rautgadi, in February this year. After a month of marriage, son-in-law Harshan Tudu and his father Chand Tudu started demanding a dowry of Rs 1 lakh from Sabina from her mother’s home. A lot of pressure was put on this and Sabina began to be beaten. The son-in-law had threatened to kill him if one lakh rupees did not come from his parents’ house. In the meantime, on Saturday night, her husband and her father-in-law mixed poison in the food, as a result the niece died. An application has been filed at Mufassil police station regarding this incident, demanding action.
