The corporation received complaints that the water supply is not smooth in many areas, and then the corporation made this decision. Due to leakage of pipelines in many areas, lakhs of liters of water is wasted PP Sharma, AGM of Shimla Water Management Corporation Limited, said that a new pipeline is being laid up to Sanjauli by replacing the old water pipelines under the June project. This work will be finished. Thereafter, a smooth supply of water will be provided to the Sanjaoli area on a daily basis.

48 MLD supply arrives daily
Shimla city receives a supply of 48 MLD daily. According to this fixed schedule, the water supply in the city is carried out in two shifts, morning and evening. Due to leakage in old pipes, the residents of the city did not get a smooth supply of water. With the installation of new pipes, the residents of the city will no longer have to deal with problems. Following the instructions of the municipal company, the drinking water company began the work of replacing the old piping. Apart from this, the tanks built in New Gumma and Benoti Khad as part of the Cragnano, Mashobra, Gumma project were also cleaned by the drinking water company.

People warned of a strike
Due to the lack of smooth water supply in some areas of the city, people have also warned against staging a protest outside the corporation offices. Apart from that, there was an uproar about it several times at the corporation’s monthly meetings. Laying new pipes will solve the problem of water supply in the city. Drinking water lines have been repaired in Navbahar Chowk, Toland and Annadale of the city. Apart from this, pipeline replacement and repair works are being carried out near RKMV College including Lakar Bazar.
