According to the information, the station will not be closed forever, but preparations are being made to close it for some time. Indian Railways will close it for a while as part of the station’s redevelopment plan. so station work can be done faster.

In fact, Indian Railways has prepared a renovation plan for around 1300 railway stations in the country. According to this plan, the New Delhi railway station is also to be reopened and modernized. Earlier there was a plan to carry out the redevelopment works of the station at once, but according to the latest information they are now considering carrying them out in different stages. Information about this is also given in the budget of the Ministry of Railways for the year 2023 of the central government.

According to the information, the tender process will start only after the Lok Sabha elections. After that, construction work on the station will begin over the next six to seven months. The renovation works of the train station may last about four to five years. It will be fully ready by the end of 2028 or 2029.

Train will start from these stations

Due to station construction works, the train stations will be replaced for about four to five years. Due to this, passengers will also have to face inconvenience. New Delhi railway station is being considered for closure by the end of this year as part of the redevelopment plan. After the station is closed, its renovation work can be started quickly. About 300 trains run daily from New Delhi railway station. More than 6 lakh passengers travel through New Delhi station.

According to the information, due to the renovation of the New Delhi station, the trains will be moved to the nearby stations. Trains traveling north and east will depart from Anand Vihar railway station. Whereas trains going to Punjab and Haryana can transfer to Sarai Rohila railway station. Similarly, trains traveling to South Indian states including Rajasthan, MP, Maharashtra, Gujarat can be diverted to Delhi Cantt and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. Apart from this, the rest of the trains can be transferred to other stations of Delhi other than Ghaziabad railway station.
