Witnesses say they heard an “explosion” before emergency services rushed to the scene at New Farm in Brisbane’s inner north.
Dave Kenzevich, who lives next door to the affected unit, told 9News he broke a window and tried to use his garden hose to put out the fire, which broke out around 9 a.m.
Four people were inside when the property was damaged by an explosion.
“It sounds like one of those planes coming into Riverfire,” said Kenzevich.
The neighbors provided first aid to the injured and the woman while they waited for the medics to arrive.
using a garden hose, Kenzevich tried to help extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived.

A Queensland Police spokesman said it was the scene of an altercation.
“They were unable to get off the balcony. Because of their injuries, they needed assistance to get off a ladder,” they said.
Oxley Lane in New Farm was blocked for hours as firefighters tackled the blaze to one unit.
The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
