Thanedar is located 15 kilometers away from Narkanda. It is popular for apple orchards. The famous Stokes gardens are located here. The most important attraction center in Narkanda is Hatu peak. It is located about 8 km from the main market. This trail passes through thick deodar forests. Earlier Hatu’s peak could be reached on foot, but now a road has been built to get there. This peak is about 3400 meters high. An ancient temple of Hatu Mata is also found on this peak which is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Amazing woodwork can be seen on the doors of this beautiful temple made of wood. A stove-like structure is found outside this temple. It is believed that when the Pandavas were in exile, they stayed here and cooked their food on this ‘stove’.

By the way, wherever you go around Narkanda, you will see natural beauty. Kacheri is one of the many such beautiful places there are. It is located about 7 km from Narkanda. Here too beauty will await you with open arms, but it is mostly famous for its Mahamaya Temple. This is also dedicated to Goddess Kali.
