.

Right from the start of Amdai Mines, hundreds of heavy vehicles pass daily on the Narayanpur-Orchha road to transport iron ore. Due to this, asphalt was displaced and potholes formed on the Narayanpur-Orchha road. It has become very difficult to cycle on this route. Regarding the problem, the villagers came several times to the district headquarters and knocked on the collector’s door, but the management is not taking effective steps regarding the road.

Cyclists become victims of accidents every day due to ignorance. People lose their lives. In the summer season clouds of dust start flying from the roads and in the rainy season the road turns into mud. Earlier, when the Congress government was in power, the Minister for Blue Kwesi Lehma had talked about the Narayanpur-Orchha road being like an actress’s life. The five-year term of Congress is over. As of now the BJP government has also promised to construct the Narayanpur-Orchha road, but so far the government is not showing any interest in constructing the road. Due to the poor condition of the road, the villagers of Chotdungar came out on the road several times and blocked it, but each time the administration calmed the matter down by assuring that the road construction work would start soon.

The villagers are crushed between two rocks. If people protest the demand of the roads, then the Naxals hang banners and placards on their names and threaten to kill them, and on the other hand people lose their lives due to accidents on the dilapidated roads. The villagers were happy with the asphalt road construction three years ago. It used to take only two hours for people to reach the district headquarters from Oraha, but since heavy vehicle traffic started in Amadi mines, the road has been destroyed and now it takes four hours to reach the district headquarters from Oraha.

Big potholes in the road invite accidents and those responsible are silent. Big potholes on the Narayanpur-Orchha road are making it difficult for passenger buses to move. Passengers are forced to travel this route with their lives at stake. Passengers face problems every day. The straps of the passenger bus break and the bus tires explode. Due to this, passengers cannot reach their destination on time. If the situation continues like this, passenger bus wheels will stop in the rain.
