Let us tell you that at 8 am on November 18, 2010, Shankar Singh and Arvind Singh, alias Khatanand Singh, went to Patua village to fetch the fields of their boss, former foreign minister Krishna Chandra Prasad Singh. As soon as the plowing of the field started, former Pipriya Panchayat head Mohan Bhagat and others attacked and started firing. During this time both the tractor was damaged and Shankar Singh and Arvind Singh were beaten and seriously injured. They took both of them in injured condition.
The then Chief Mohan Bhagat is accused of killing Shankar Singh and Arvind Singh and disposing of their bodies. In this case, Krishna Kumar alias Kanhaiya, son of late Shankar Singh, filed a case against 26 named and 150 unidentified persons, including former Pipariya Panchayat chief Mohan Bhagat, for committing a double murder.
During the trial of this case, the court found former commander Mohan Bhagat guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. During the hearing, Senior High Court Advocate Bakshi questioned the defense side and Abhay Kumar Singh and Ram Vilas Sharma from the prosecution side.
After the verdict, former Prime Minister Mohan Bhagat said that he respected the court. He fought for the rights of the poor and worked for the poor to get their land titles. Government Advocate Ram Vilas Singh said that the court’s decision is welcome. The court gave its verdict after listening to all the witnesses and aspects.
