Navi Mumbai police have arrested a taxi driver for murdering a woman. The taxi driver said that the woman was pressuring him to marry her. Due to his refusal, there was a dispute between the two.
On April 25, police found a body of a woman wrapped in a blanket in a dry drain at Talcher in Chirnar-Kharpada in Navi Mumbai’s Oran area. When the police started investigating the case, they came to know that on April 18, a missing complaint of a woman was registered from the Mancord police station in neighboring Mumbai. After the body was identified, it was found to be the body of the missing woman. That woman was a resident of the Oran region.
Investigation of the case revealed that the woman was in love with a taxi driver resident of Nagpada, Mumbai. The policeman said that the woman wanted to carry the driver. And she was determined to marry him, but the driver refused to marry her. This matter caused much controversy between the two. The driver forced the woman to sit in the car on the evening of April 18 under the pretext of going on a trip through Menhord. and took him to Hadawali in Kalyan area of ​​Thane district. He was murdered around 01:00 on April 19. After the murder, the driver threw the woman’s body into the sewer.
The policeman said that the accused was arrested on Saturday. He said that after the recovery of the woman’s body, he did the postmortem and registered a case against unknown persons under various sections including Indian Penal Code 302 (murder). According to him, the driver who was arrested on charges of murder was presented in the local court. There he was held in police custody until April 29.
