Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Correcting the facts, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College has sent the revised result of surgery practical examination of MBBS final year students to Madhya Pradesh University of Medical Science for fresh results.

The medical college has sent the revised result to the university after all examinees signed it, including external ones from Jamnagar and Jaipur. The college sent a medico by plane to get revised results signed by them.

Now, the matter would be put before the Examination Board of the university and only after getting its final mark, final results would be announced.

“On fixing the error, we have sent the revised result to the university. We are expecting the change in result in the next few days,” Dr Manish Kaushal, HoD Surgery, MGM Medical College, told the media.

The medical college authorities expedited the process after agitated MBBS students who threatened to commit mass suicide.

The medical college authorities swung into action after the final year MBBS students, who failed their surgery practical exam, threatened to commit mass suicide alleging that the college administration delayed in rectifying the mistake of under-marking.

This increase was made by one of the examiners who had evaluated students with a total of 10 marks instead of 60 marks. Furthermore, the responsible clerk who uploaded the marks failed to multiply the marks awarded by the entire six and the examiners also failed to catch the mistake before submitting the marks to the university.
