According to a Moneycontrol report, tennis sensation Sania Mirza is likely to challenge Asaduddin Owaisi in this Lok Sabha election, and sources say that the Congress party wants to capitalize on Sania Mirza’s popularity. It is learned that Sania Mirza has been planned to field against Asaduddin Owaisi from Hyderabad, and Congress leaders have been knocking on her door to transfer Sania Mirza for this. The contest from Hyderabad will be interesting as Asaduddin Owaisi has won continuously in the last four elections.

Congress party sources said that a meeting of the Central Election Committee of the Congress party was held in Delhi recently. In this regard, the names of Lok Sabha candidates have been finalised. In this meeting Mohammad Azharuddin proposed to give ticket to Sania Mirza from Hyderabad. Mohammad Azharuddin is related to Sania Mirza. Azharuddin’s son Asaduddin is married to Sania Mirza’s younger sister Anam Mirza.

The Lok Sabha seat of Hyderabad is of special importance. The region is known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse demographic characteristics. After this, Sultan Salahuddin’s eldest son, Asaduddin Owaisi, contested from the party and has been continuously elected as an MP since then. Asaduddin Owaisi got 5.17 lakh votes in the last Lok Sabha Election 2019, which is 59 percent of the total votes. But here the Congress candidate, Feroze Khan, got only 49 thousand votes.

Since the Congress party is in power in Telangana, the Congress wants to capitalize on its victory in Hyderabad this time. But it was not that easy because the Congress did not succeed in the assembly seats that come under the jurisdiction of Hyderabad Lok Sabha and AIMIM won 6 seats out of 7, while the BJP won one seat.
