1. Maruti’s profit increased by 48% in the fourth quarter: the company sold 21.35 lakh vehicles in the whole year, will give a dividend of 125 rupees to the shareholders.

The profit of Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturing company, increased by 48%. The company released the results for the fourth quarter (January-March) of the 2023-24 fiscal year on Friday, April 26. The company said that it earned a profit of 3877 million rupees in this quarter. The company posted a profit of ₹2,632 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

At the same time, profit after tax for the entire financial year increased by 64% to Rs 13,209 crore. A year ago, i.e. in fiscal year 2023, it was Rs 8,049 crore. Maruti has announced a dividend of Rs 125 per share to its shareholders. Companies give part of the profits to their shareholders, this is called a dividend.

WhatsApp may stop providing service in India. The instant messaging platform has told the Delhi High Court that it will leave India if it is forced to break its messaging encryption.

The two major Meta platforms, WhatsApp and Facebook, have filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the recently amended IT rules, which the Supreme Court referred to the Delhi HC last month.

3. HCL Tech’s net profit of ₹ 3,986 crore in Q4: The company’s revenue grew by 7.1% to ₹ 28,499 crore, the company will pay a dividend of INR 18 per share.

HCL Tech Limited on Friday (April 26) released the results for Q4FY24 i.e. the fourth quarter of 2024. In the January-March quarter, the company’s net profit increased by 0.07% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis to $3,986 million.

In the corresponding quarter last year (Q4FY23), the company’s net profit was ₹3,983 crore. While in the last quarter (Q3FY24) it was $4,350 million. This means that the company’s net profit on a quarterly basis (QoQ) decreased by 8.4% in the fourth quarter.
