NOIDA: A 42-year-old man who worked as head of sales for the Delhi region of Steel Commander was allegedly stabbed to death on the way home from work GhaziabadIt’s Rajinder Nagar on Friday night.
Vinay Tyagi, the police said, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. He was found lying on a road near Khaitan Public School in Sahibabad – with two deep wounds on his chest – barely 2 km from his home.

The police suspect that Tyagi may have been attacked during a robbery suggested, pointing out that his laptop, wallet and other valuables were missing.
According to ACP (Shalimar Garden) Siddharth Gautam, Tyagi’s family members rushed him to the nearby Narendra Mohan Hospital. It was not immediately clear who notified them.
“We received a call from the hospital, informing us of the death of a man from stab wounds. A team arrived at the hospital from the police station in Gan Shalimar,” the hospital added.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Tyagi had left his home, Rajinder Nagar, for duty at around 11 am on Friday.
“On his way back, he spoke to his family members at 11:17 p.m. and informed them that he would be home soon. He would normally take the metro home,” Gautam said. “When he did not come home in a while, his family members tried to reach him, but his phone was not answered. In their search, they found him lying down. injured On the road behind Khaitan School. He was bleeding from two stab wounds,” he added.
Tyagi would usually take the metro from Rajendra Nagar station on the red line. His office was in Aerocity, which he reached via the Airport Express line. Police said they were scanning CCTV footage for clues. CCTV footage shows him pulling into the lane as he returns home. But there are no photos of the crime scene. The police said that 10 teams were formed to catch the suspects.
“Apparently, he seems to have returned home when a group of kidnappers or robbers intercepted him. He may have been attacked when he tried to resist them. His wallet and laptop bag are missing, his family told us,” said an officer. .
Following a complaint by Tyagi’s family, an FIR was registered under sections 302 (murder) and 394 (voluntarily causing hurt by robbery) of the IPC.
