The police are appealing for information about the incident which happened at around 11am.

Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we would ask anyone who has not already spoken to officers and who can assist with our investigation to contact us.
“I am keen for drivers who have dash cam footage of the vehicle or pedestrian involved in the collision before the collision to contact us.
“I would like to extend my thanks to the members of the public who stopped and provided assistance.”
