A case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) has been registered against TMC candidate Mahua Moitra from Krishnanagar constituency in West Bengal. On this occasion, the message sent by Mahua Moitra’s mother is making a lot of news. Mahua Moitra posted her mother’s message on X.

Last week, the ED summoned Mahua to Delhi for questioning. But Mahua said he will stay in Krishnanagar before the elections. He is currently busy with an election campaign.

What is the case against Mahua Moitra?

A case has been registered against Mahua Moitra in connection with money laundering. Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December for allegedly accepting gifts to ask questions targeting the central government in Parliament.

Recently, the Electoral Department issued a new summons for questioning in the case of violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Mahua Moitra escaped from the court case.
