Guwahati: In the ongoing General Election 2024, a voter turnout of 66.14% was recorded for Phase 1, covering 102 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs), and 66.71% for Phase 2, covering 88 PCs. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released detailed statistics on gender-based voter turnout in the two phases.
The overall voter turnout for Phase 1 showed a participation rate of 66.22% for male voters, 66.07% for female voters and 31.32% for third gender voters, with an aggregate of 66.14%. In stage 2, the voting rate was 66.99% for male voters, 66.42% for female voters and 23.86% for voters of the third gender, which resulted in a total voting rate of 66.71%.

The state and PC voter turnout data for both phases was provided by ECI. The data is also continuously updated in the voter turnout app, enabling detailed tracking and verification through Form 17C, which is shared with all candidates through their polling agents.
The actual figures in Form 17C will prevail, with the final vote percentage becoming available only after the counting, as the postal ballots are included in the total vote count. The postal ballots include votes from service voters, absentee voters (over 85, people with disabilities, essential service personnel, etc.), and voters in elective positions.

The ECI stressed that daily records of postal ballots received are being provided to all candidates as per the provisions of the Act.
