Mumbai: Relief news on the first day of the month, the price of a 19 kg gas cylinder has come down. A class of LPG users got news of relief in the polls.

19 kg gas cylinders are generally used by traders, also known as commercial gas. The price of commercial gas has come down from Tk 19 to Tk 20 across the country. The price of each cylinder of commercial gas in Kolkata was Rs 1879 until Tuesday, after a reduction of Rs 20, the new price in Kolkata stood at Rs 1859. On the other hand, the price of commercial gas in Mumbai decreased by Tk 19, from Tk 1717.50 to Tk 1698.50. The new price of commercial gas in Chennai and Delhi is Rs 1911 and Rs 1745.50 respectively.

Crude oil prices fell for three consecutive days in the global market, which led to lower commercial gas prices. The new commercial gas price has come into force on 1 May. Incidentally, the price of each cylinder of domestic gas in Kolkata is Rs 829. The price of gas was Tk 829 through March and April. It remains to be seen whether the price of commercial gas will decrease due to the decrease in the price of crude oil in the global market, but the price of domestic gas will not decrease.
