Prime Minister Narendra Modi became emotional when he remembered his mother Hiravan Modi in an interview on the campaign trail for Lok Sabha elections 2024. Hiravan Modi passed away just last year. In an interview, Prime Minister Modi said that this was the first Lok Sabha election in which he went to submit nominations without touching his mother’s feet.
Prime Minister Modi said, “This is the first Lok Sabha election for me, where I came to contest without touching my mother’s feet. But one thing came to my mind. Today there are 140 million people and millions of mothers in the country, who have given me love, to remember him and also Mother Ganga in Varanasi.
Prime Minister Modi’s first election without a mother
This is the first election since 2002, in which Prime Minister Modi is contesting in the absence of his mother. Prime Minister Modi has always said that he is inspired by his mother’s sacrifice and devotion. He said that it was his mother’s sacrifice that inspired him to bring welfare programs for women. Prime Minister Modi said, “The question is not only about my mother. My mother gave birth to me, raised me, but I feel that I did nothing for my mother. Because every dream that my mother dreamed, I did nothing like that.”
Let us tell you that Hiraban Modi lives with Prime Minister Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi in Raison village. Apart from Prime Minister Modi, none of his family members live in the Prime Minister’s official residence. Hiraban Modi used to come to meet him sometimes. Prime Minister Modi campaigned for Lok Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir to Thiruvananthapuram in the south. General elections are being held across the country in seven phases from April 19 to June 1.
