The voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is being held in Delhi today on May 25. Voting is progressing slowly in the polling stations, but the heat is not visible in the booths, the kind of heat you see in assembly elections or municipal elections. Compared to assembly or corporate elections, party workers conduct voter slips and help them vote in a very relaxed manner. Maintaining voter turnout in Delhi’s scorching heat remains a major challenge for political parties. There is not much crowd in most polling stations. However, voters are constantly turning up and voting is ongoing.

This time in Delhi there is a direct contest between BJP and the Congress-Aam Aadmi Party alliance. BJP candidates are facing competition from Congress candidates on three seats and Aam Aadmi Party candidates on four seats. Several small or independent political parties have also fielded candidates for each seat, but apart from Rajkumar, who left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BSP, no other candidate has much clout. This is why only two counters are visible in almost every stall. Because of this, the voting is going on peacefully.

All arrangements for voters

Volunteers are recruited from schools to help people with disabilities. Volunteers Rosie and Anjou told Amar Ojala that they help disabled or elderly voters. Dinesh Kumar, who deals with security, said that the voters vote very quietly and there is no problem anywhere. Adequate water and shade arrangements were made for the voters at the ballot box.

The voter said to vote for a change

Sunita Upadhyay, a woman who came to vote at a polling station in East Delhi, told Amar Ojla that she was voting to send Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Center for the third time. Narendra Modi has done a lot for women. He refrained from empowering them economically and worked to ensure the dignity of every woman, and that is why they vote for him. At the same time, Avdesh Kumar said that he is worried about inflation and unemployment. They vote for change.

Great leaders voted

Along with the general public, big leaders of Delhi are also voting. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva pointed this out and appealed to the people of Delhi to vote more. BJP candidates Harsh Malhotra, Bansuri Swaraj, Rambir Singh Bidhuri, Yogendra Chandolia cast their votes. Other leaders also come out constantly and appeal to the people to vote.
