Lok Sabha Election: Not a single person has voted in these 6 constituencies! This is the reason Achi-News

New Delhi: Voting for the first phase of the 18th Lok Sabha Elections has begun today. Voting is going on in 102 constituencies of 21 states including union territories. In many places, the voting is fast, but in some places, the voting is going on slowly. But in 6 districts of Nagaland no voting has been seen so far.

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO), which has been demanding a separate administration, has declared a state of public emergency. He has also called on the local people to boycott the elections. Against this background, six districts in Nagaland namely Sone, Tuensang, Longleng, Kifir, Shamatar and Noklak saw almost no voting today.

Show Case Notification

The Chief Electoral Officer of the North Eastern Province issued a notice to ENPO for disrupting the electoral process. Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer R. Vasan has directed the ENPO in his show cause notice to take appropriate action under the Indian Penal Code.

What did Nagaland CM say?

Speaking after voting at a school in Kohima, Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio said that the state government has proposed the constitution of an autonomous body for the development of Eastern Nagaland and the people living in the region. So people should come and vote. The Election Commission said it has issued a show cause notice to the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) for calling people to abstain from voting.

Voting goes on on Friday in 102 constituencies including 21 states and Union Territories. Lok Sabha Election 2024 will be held in 7 phases. The first phase of the vote will be held on April 19, the second on April 26, the third on May 7, the fourth on May 13, the fifth on May 20, the sixth on May 25 and the seventh phase on June 1, with the counting of the votes on 4 June.
