The Lok Sabha elections will be held in 7 phases, the results will come on June 4.
The Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on March 16. With this the code of conduct also came into effect. Elections for 543 seats will be held in seven phases.
Voting for the first phase took place on April 19. The final phase of voting will take place on June 1. The results will come on 4 June. It will take 80 days from the code of conduct to the results.
Along with the Lok Sabha, the dates of the assembly elections of 4 states – Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim have also been released. Voting in Odisha will be held on 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June. Elections will be held in the other three states in one phase. Voting will be held in Arunachal and Sikkim on 19 April, and in Andhra Pradesh on 13 May.
The number of seats in the election schedule has increased from 543 to 544. The reason for this is the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat in Manipur. There are 28 assembly seats in this Lok Sabha seat.
