Guwahati: The Assam government has decided to increase the prices of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in the state. In a notification issued by the Assam Excise Department dated March 6, the prices have been increased for select categories of IMFL.

The increase is effective for rum, brandy, whisky, gin, spirits and other similar alcoholic products produced in India.

It is important to note that the price correction will take effect from April 1, 2024.
An official at the Excise Office said: "The increased rates of the beverage brands will be known after April 1."
