Former TV producer Larry Masterson has died at the age of 73.

My first assignment as a producer at RTÉ was to work on a brand new entertainment series which was to be broadcast on Friday evenings after the main evening news. it’s called live mike. Starring Mike Murphy, and as its title suggests, it was broadcast live.
Some of the production team were like me: completely new to television and struggling to understand our new careers. But there were also those who worked on other programs at the station. One of them was a researcher named Larry Masterson. He’s only been at RTÉ for a few years, but to me he already looks like an old veteran.
