Lahore (Newsdesk) Lahore Gymkhana pays only 417 rupees monthly rent for government land.

According to the details, the member of the Provincial Assembly of the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (N) gave a statement in the Punjab Assembly that the Lahore Gymkhana Club, located on the most valuable government land in Upper Mall in Lahore, is paying Only Rs 417 per month as welfare to the state.

A lease agreement was signed in 1996 between the then Deputy Commissioner of Lahore and the Secretary of the Lahore Gymkhana Club on behalf of the Punjab government, where over 1,000 kanals of government land were leased for 50 years at an annual rent of Rs 5,000. Gayi, which is Rs 417 per month.

The agreement states that “the lessee shall pay rent at a nominal rate of Rs. 5,000 per annum,” the agreement also states that the lessee is responsible for paying all applicable taxes for the land

The agreement further states that the tenant will establish a gymkhana club on the said land to provide facilities in the public sector.

The lease has been in force since 2000 and will last until 2050.

This fact was confirmed by a notice issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office on 26 August 2020 to the club regarding non-payment of rent after the year 2011, with an area of ​​1,133 kanals, one marla and 80 square feet at Rs 5,000 per year until 2050. The terms of the lease on rent were repeated.
