Gaurav Gogoi is a two-time Assam Lok Sabha MP, and recently filed his nomination papers for the third time from the Jorhat parliamentary constituency in Assam. The 41-year-old is one of the prominent leaders of Assam’s Congress party and has been elected to the Lok Sabha twice; Once in 2014 and again in 2019, from Kaliabur constituency in Assam.

Gaurav Gogoi is the son of former Chief Minister of Assam late Tarun Gogoi, and is of Manziri origin in Jorhat. He completed his high school from St. Columba’s School in 2000, and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, in 2004. He also completed his Masters in Public Administration from New York University in 2010.

Gaurav Gogoi has declared assets worth ₹38,30,796.62 in his affidavit, which he submitted to the Election Commission while filing his nomination. Gogoi also owns two properties and a flat, worth a total of ₹2,25,00,000.
There are no criminal cases pending against Gogoi at the moment, though the Dispore police filed a legal case against him after the Bharat Judo Nai Yatra chaos on the outskirts of Guwahati.
