Guwahati: Kolkata Knight Riders won their third IPL title by defeating SunRisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the climax of the final in Chennai on Sunday, May 26.

SRH managed just 113 runs, the lowest ever in an IPL final, after batting first left KKR only to complete the formalities, which they dutifully did in 10.3 overs losing just two wickets.
For SRH, it was ironic as they had the first two scores of 287 and 277 apart from 266 in IPL 2024, and to end on such a note must have hurt.
In the end it was a one sided game.
After SRH folded for 113, KKR needed no second order and were well past the halfway mark to win the first powerplay scoring 72 for 1, thanks to an explosive Venkatesh Iyer who scored 40 off 12 balls in the same period before. Goes on to finish unbeaten with a half-century.
But before that, the KKR bowlers handed the game over to their batting after all six had wickets to their credit.
KKR have been consistent in the journey to the final.
Chennai proved KKR’s luck in the IPL final for the second time on Sunday. The team won in 2012 defeating the home team Chennai Super Kings.
