New Delhi (Delhi School News), everyone is suffering from the scorching heat in the national capital Delhi. Summer vacation is expected to start in Delhi schools from next week i.e. 11th May 2024. Delhi Education Directorate has issued some guidelines for all school children. These will help avoid hot flashes. School teachers and parents of Delhi students will have to ensure that their children follow these guidelines.
The Meteorological Department has issued a high temperature alert (heat wave in India). According to his warning, in May the temperature will be higher than usual. There is a risk of health deterioration in the summer season, i.e. heat waves. Therefore, summer vacation was declared in many countries and school timings were changed in many others. The summer vacation is expected to start on May 11 in Delhi and on May 14 or 17 in UP. (UP school summer vacation).
DoE Guidelines for Heat Waves in Delhi: Delhi Directorate of Education Guidelines
It is mandatory for every student studying in Delhi schools to follow these guidelines of the Delhi Education Directorate. With this, you can take care of your health even in summer and heat.
1- As per the guidelines of the Delhi Education Directorate, all the schools will have to put up posters in their campus to make the children aware about prevention of heat stress and heat stroke.
2- An assembly will not be organized in the afternoon in any school.
3- After the announcement of a heat wave, schools cannot plan classes in the open air or outdoor activities.
4- RO systems should be in good condition in all schools. In the summer, children need to drink more water to stay hydrated. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the schools to provide clean drinking water to the children on site.
5- A first aid kit and ORS solution related to the immediate treatment of children suffering from heat-related illnesses should be provided.
6- If a case of heat stress is detected in any school, it is mandatory to report to the nearest health center.
7- All educational institutions will have to inform parents through members of the school management committee that they must send their children only with some kind of head covering. Students can use a cap, hat, towel, umbrella or other head covering items to protect themselves from the sun.
8- In case of severe weather conditions, students should have the facility to take water breaks during class.
