Dr. KS Rajana, who lost both his hands and legs due to polio, was today awarded the fourth highest civilian award in the country – the Padma Shri. At the civil inquiry ceremony, President Draupadi Moremu awarded Padma awards to personalities who have made an incomparable contribution in the fields of art, social services , the sport and more. One such personality is Dr. K.S. Rajana. Dr. Rajana hails from Karnataka. A special mention to Rajana, who has been nominated for the 2024 Padma Shri award, also because his few moments spent with Prime Minister Narendra Modi are going viral on social media.

On Thursday, when Dr KS Rajana’s name was called out for the Padma Shri award at the historic Rashtrapati Bhavan, the entire hall erupted into a standing ovation. Dr. Rajana approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi before receiving the Padma Shri medal and a citation from President Draupadi Murmu. Rajana was also seen saying something while holding PM Modi’s hand. This meeting of a few seconds evokes emotion among the people watching.

Prime Minister Modi was also seen jubilant after holding Rajana’s crippled hands for a few seconds. The scene of the meeting between Modi and Rajana was such that all analogies stop.
