Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Wednesday that he has demanded the central government to cancel the diplomatic passport of Prajwal Ravana in the obscene video case, but so far the center has not given any response on it. He said that it is the center’s responsibility to assist and cancel diplomatic passports in accordance with the established law. The state government has constituted an SIT to investigate the cases of physical abuse against Prajuwal Ravana. The same SIT team approached the central government with a request to revoke Prajuwal’s diplomatic passport.

The interior minister blamed the center

G Parameshwara said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has also written a letter to Prime Minister Modi in this regard. The court issued an arrest warrant against Prajwal Ravana. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the center to cancel the diplomatic passport. Prajwal Ravana, 33, is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and is an MP from the Hassan Lok Sabha seat. Prajuwal is accused of physically abusing many women and making obscene videos of them. As soon as the matter was revealed, Prajavel Ravana left for Germany on April 27. Frajual is believed to still be in Germany. On SIT’s appeal, Interpol issued a blue corner notice against Prajwal.

There was no negligence on the part of the state government

Karnataka Home Minister c. Parameshwara said there was no negligence on the part of the state government in handling the cases related to the alleged sexual exploitation of women by Hasan MP Prajwal Ravana and the special investigation team is looking into all aspects. Parameshwara also dismissed the opposition parties’ claims of deteriorating law and order situation in Karnataka and defended the state police, saying they (the police) have done a good job.

Parameshwara said, ‘SIT is seriously investigating all aspects of this case and they are fully competent. As soon as we came to know about this case, we first transferred it to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and then, considering the gravity of the situation, we set up the SIT. There was no negligence on the part of the government. If the intelligence system failed in Karnataka, then the central intelligence system also failed because it allowed him (Prajwal) to leave the state.
